Nevada Test Site
AECOM is a key partner in the National Security Technologies, LLC (NSTec) team that manages and operates the Nevada Test Site and National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) satellite facilities in Nevada, D.C., New Mexico, and California. This program, valued at $500 million annually, includes remote field experiements and operations; physical and environmental science; design and fabrication of electronic, mechanical, and structural systems; remote and robotic sensing; management of multi-laboratory facilities; engineering, construction, and mining operations; chemical, explosives, and hazardous materials systems and technologies; and waste management for various categories of waste.
This program has historical significance for AECOM as AGS' predecessor company, Holmes & Narver Services, Inc. (HNSI), provided the initial surveys and recommendations for the site and acted as facilities engineer for original testing facilities built on the site in the 1950's. In total, HNSI supported the Nevada Test Site for more than 30 years (1956-1990).
